How NUN started
The promoters, Anchal Jain and Ankur Prakash were inspired by the confident, modern Indian girl who is globally aware and influenced but intrinsically proud in her culture and values. They had a dream, a dream to give every girl a home away from home. An abode they can call their very own, a space in which she thrives. And here it is now in full physical form by the name of NUN. The endless toil of the promoters Anchal and Ankur has paid off as the girls are now flocking to the stores to get their own piece of NUN.
Design is the key
NUN is inspired by the lives of their consumers itself as they grow wings and prepare to take on the world. The apparel is designed keeping in view the young urban woman, highly confident, looking to make a point – a young rebel poised for big things.
With design teams in Paris and India, NUN has created a genuine global fashion language. Along with the trendiest style statements and chic designs, NUN has been successful in developing long term relationships with their vendors who carry global exposure, support their research and development into new techniques and innovations.
Customer Centric Approach at NUN
Fashion retailing demands a close watch on how your consumers’ taste change which is dynamic. Mr. Prakash points out that at NUN; they constantly evaluate standards to keep pace with the changing tastes by closely observing what their consumer is thinking. The visual merchandising and store layout bring out the soul of today’s youth and is very well supported by the merchandise mix. Not only has NUN customized its product mix according to the consumer demands but has rolled out formats of quality product comparable to international standards. With heavy stress on quality of design and production, he lists that in this dynamic market, quick turnaround of fashionable products is the challenge and hence the key to success.
Industry Insights
Commenting on the apparel industry, Mr. Prakash feels that many brands and retailers today stuggle to have a distinct identity. But, according to him, the industry has undergone a lot of changes especially in the categories their business deals over the past two years. Having a clear customer insight has assisted NUN in achieving great success in a short span of time.
